Irrfan Khan’s Haasil Completes 17 Years; Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia Pays A Tribute To Their '34 Years’ Old Friendship

As Irrfan Khan’s 2003 release Haasil completes 17 years today, actor’s writer-director friend, Tigmanshu Dhulia paid a tribute to him. He revealed that the name of the film was discovered at the late actor’s rented apartment

On April 29, we all woke up to the heartbreaking news of Bollywood's finest actor Irrfan Khan's demise. After battling with cancer for almost 2 years, the actor succumbed to it in the morning. The late actor is survived by wife Sutapa Sundar and two sons- Babil and Aryan Khan. He was 53. It may have been over 15 days since Irrfan left for heavenly abode, his fans continue to mourn his loss even today. This family and friends have been sharing some throwback pictures and videos of the actor.

May 16 marks Irrfan Khan starrer Haasil’s 17 years. On the completion of Haasil, which released in 2003, film director and Irrfan’s close friend Tigmanshu Dhulia shared an emotional note to his friend and their friendship of 34 years. He Tweeted, “I remember the title came to my mind at his rented evershine nagar flat...brainstorming twenty years ago...Haasil. It completes 17 years today, a film which is an ode to our friendship of 34 years and it will never end...you will always guide me my friend”

Earlier, writer-director Tigmanshu Dhulia opened up about his friend Irrfan Khan after his death to Mid-Day. He had said, “Irrfan's passing is a huge loss for the entire film fraternity, but I have lost a dear friend today. We were destined to be friends. I was 19 when I first met him at the National School of Drama, where I was a few years junior to him.”
